Why Hire A Lighting Company?

When you are watching a scary movie with all of the lights off, the darkness adds to the horrifying effect. Now imagine watching that same scary movie with the lights on - don't you think the lasting effect of someone popping out behind a door is minimal compared to the trembling you feel while continuing to sit in the darkness?

As much as I don't want to compare your wedding to a horror flick, the concept of how lighting can affect an audience is the same as how lighting can set the mood for your wedding. When you wake up in a dark room you tend to feel more tired than you would if you woke up with sunshine coming through the peaks of your blinds; another example of how a simple tweak in light can altar a feeling.

The way light can convey an emotion is how we like to approach designing your wedding lighting. We love to hear couples give us a few key words when describing the feel they want at their wedding; after having them tell us these key words, we give them options on how to pick the right lighting color that will communicate that particular emotion to their guest.

By hiring a professional lighting company, you are hiring someone to create an ambiance, an emotion; we are here to help you tell your story. Lighting is one of the most important aspects of a wedding, but is, more often than not, overlooked. The lighting and placement of the lighting is able to enhance your decor, as well as make the space feel more intimate.

We are dedicated to helping you create a feel for your wedding. While more couples are turning to their DJ's for lighting during this tough economy, we would stress to you to leave it up to the professionals. A wedding day is hectic for all included - allow us to worry about the lighting and give you a more devoted service.

We know the budget is the most stressful part of your wedding, but just think about how much more rich your venue will be with the right lighting. Also, how much more lively your decor will look. We understand that your wedding is a time to reflect on the past while looking forward into the future, so let us worry about the details. We specialize in lightings so you don't have to.

April Showers Bring May Outdoor Weddings...

May has been a busy month for us - and we have had the honor of meeting the most amazing couples; just like Bekah and Daniel. These lovebirds got married at a private residence and had the most raved about vendors helping create their fairytale wedding, coordinated by Brandi Smith from High Society Wedding.

Along with Larissa with Inviting Occasion, we were able to turn a residential backyard into an unforgettable location for the couple. With gorgeous florals, candles, custom chandeliers and exterior lighting, this large space turned into the perfect intimate setting.

24 Carrots catering & events was as awesome as ever; providing the perfect menu suited to the couples taste. Classic Party Rentals did an amazing job on the custom tent; and this magical night was captured by the great Troy Grover Photography

And last but not least, a shout out to our very own DJ Closer; who kept the guests dancing all night long.

Congratulations Bekah and Daniel, we know we will never forget this night; thank you for letting us be a part of it.

because we just could not resist.

Here is a little sneak peak of Katherine and Patrick's wedding at Rancho Los Lomas, with amazing vendors such as 24 Carrots and Larrissa from Inviting Occasion. Thanks to Sargeant Photography for their amazing photos that we get to share with you! With awesome people like Katherine and Patrick, these are the nights we wish we were also a guest at their wedding.

 CONGRATULATIONS to the happy couple!

just a little note to say...

We absolutely LOVE when our clients take the time to say "Thank You". It makes us feel that we helped make their special day that much greater! We are thrilled to watch their faces light up (no pun intended) when they see the final product for the first time. Here is a thank you that really lit up our day (pun intended).

Calli,

The lighting was gorgeous!  OMG!  I loved the sunlight through the leaves effect.  We will be sending our paper thank you's soon but I wanted to thank you right away.

Clarissa & James

** We tried out our own photography skills that day - but we decided not to quit our day job. Can't wait to see the professional pictures - more to come from that amazing day! **

And here is a review we received on WeddingWire.com from a bride that really reminded us why we are in the business we are in:

This company was simply fantastic in every way. Anthony was professional, considerate, and very detail-oriented! Thanks to his company and his techs, our wedding had the most beautiful, unbelievable lighting and ambience! Our reception was located outdoors at Rancho Las Lomas, in November 2009--an evening reception. It gets dark at Rancho, and the lighting was what made our reception so much fun and much more enjoyable for us and our guests. Our amazing event designer, Larrissa from Inviting Occasion, created these beautiful centerpieces with books and fanned book pages, all of which would have gone unnoticed without all of the great lighting that the EVENT company provided for us! As soon as it got dark, the lights lit up around us and everything was so beautiful and elegant and festive. And our cake atop the cake table truly glowed--it was right out of a fairy tale. Our guests were SO impressed and still, well over a year later, talk about our wedding reception as one of the nicest they've ever attended. Anthony also provided fun dance lighting, an initial monogram for us, and all kinds of things my husband and I didn't even know existed! The best thing about this company is that you can trust the quality of their work--and you can DEPEND on it! Whatever you need, they'll provide. And this is such a relief in all the craziness that can come with planning a wedding. We were so, so happy with how everything turned out, and can't recommend this company highly enough!

OSCAR PARTY: PRINCE.

Last night our parent company DPS had the privilege of doing the lighting for Prince's Oscar Party... yes, PRINCE! Can you believe it? Paired with the yummy catering of 24 Carrots, they exceeded alllll expectations for the party. Needless to say, Prince was impressed. :)

we absolutely LOVE our clients.

It's really fun when a client books cinematography with us because that means we get to send them their video as a full blown GIFT! I love being able to wrap everything together with a big bow on top and ship it off. It's fun to think that when they open it they are like kids on Christmas morning. :) Here's a little taste of what that gift looks like....

THE KNOT PARTY.

Last year we were asked to participate in the Knot & the Bump event at the San Clemente Casino that showcased some of the best vendors in Orange County. OF COURSE we said yes! We were fortunate enough to be given free range when it came to lighting design. We created a circular truss structure that really made the event come to life. The lighting that we attached to the top of the structure were impressions which allowed us to change the mood of the whole event just by pushing one little button. Throughout the night at any given point in time the lighting changed from purple/blue to pink to white. It really was an amazing event.

Brandi Smith from High Society with her rad coordinating skills and Larrissa from Inviting Occasion with her out of this world decor really knocked it outta the park . Check out some of the awesome photos from Troy Grover Photography:

JACK & ERIN.

Even though this wedding took place last year.. I LOVE IT! Erin and Jack had their reception at the Island Hotel in Newport Beach and what was great about this venue was the fact that we got to rig our lighting. We were able to fly two separate truss bars to lift everything off the ground to eliminate the look of multiple pipe and base. You'll notice from the pictures below that everything looks neat and clean! The color palette for this reception was also so cool. The purple vibe with the amber uplights really made this whole reception come to life (which I like to say had a little to do with why everyone danced literally ALL night haha).

Nili Stevens Creative Consultant really rocked this wedding and what was awesome about this reception was the fact that it wasn't a formal sit down dinner. Right after the grand entrance, they newlyweds took the dance floor for the rest of the night dancing to the sounds of the live band. There were food stations located all over the ballroom for the guests to enjoy as well as lounge furniture. The AMAZING decor was done by the uber talented Larrissa from Inviting Occasion.
